Maximilian Pralle is a DPhil candidate in law at Oxford. His research, on social media recommender systems, lies at the intersection of law, political philosophy, and AI governance. He is interested in the value-alignment of recommender systems as risk mitigation under the Digital Services Act and Online Safety Act. In particular, he wonders about the possibilities of legitimate recommender systems alignment and what this may teach us about democratic AI governance more broadly.
Maximilian holds a BSc in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics from the University of Amsterdam and an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge.
