EMMA LAROCHE
Researcher

Emma Laroche is a master's candidate in Digital Humanities at University College London, specialising in digital disinformation, online harms, extremism, and societal resilience against Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI). She holds a BA in History from the University of Bristol, where she studied fascist violence and oral histories of fascism. Through her academic research and external research roles, she examines intervention strategies and frameworks to protect democratic societies from digital disinformation and extremist narratives on digital platforms. Fluent in English, French, Cantonese, and Mandarin, she brings a multicultural perspective to understanding international information operations, and hopes to work for an international organisation or think-tank mitigating the impacts of disinformation and extremist narratives.
