Cristian is a third-year BSc Politics, Philosophy and Economics student at UCL. His main academic interest is democratic theory and institutions, particularly on the European continent. In future he seeks to analyse the response of modern democracies to right-wing populism and economic nationalism, and the role technological advancements such as social media had to play. His additional interests are psephology and investigative journalism. At the Lab he is currently assisting research for a project on how to determine the harmfulness of different kinds of speech online.
