Cosima Wiltshire is an advocate and researcher specialising in online safety regulation, child digital rights and digital literacy.
From 2019 to 2024, Cosima served as a Digital Champion for the UK Safer Internet Centre, advising companies such as Meta, Snap and Microsoft, alongside government bodies. Her subsequent work has included consultancy at both national and international levels, including the UN Human Rights Council ‘53-8, Global Online Safety Regulators Network (GOSRN), Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence Against Children, BBC and Ofcom.
At the lab, Cosima undertakes research on online harms and digital civics, delivering AI and digital ethics education to students across London.
She is also conducting pro bono research externally focused on foresight at the intersection of digital poverty, political and digital literacy, with a focus on youth voice and multilateralism.
In addition, Cosima serves on advisory boards for the UK Electoral Commission, Shout Out UK, UNICEF Innocenti, and FlippGen, and leads the early careers work of the Women in Tech Policy network.
